Tan Care
Tan Care
Avoid sweating, getting wet, tight fit clothing
deodorant, perfume, makeup. Please wait until the tan is fully developed before using or doing any from the list above.
First rinse: After your tan is done developing ( 8 hours +) rinse off the bronzers. Your very first rinse should only be warm water
without soap, pat yourself dry.
Moisturize: Moisturize 2x a day, everyday to keep that glow.
Keeping your skin moisturized is key to keeping the tan hydrated. Hydrated skin makes for a long lasting glow!
Shower: After your first rinse you can shower with a tan safe soap.
We recommend using Native or other brands that are Sulfate free, Paranben free, Dye free, Phthalate free.
Avoid the use of hot tubs and chlorinated pools, saunas, hot showers/baths
All other beauty appointments such as mani/pedi's, hair coloring, waxing should be done at least 24-48 hours before you tan.
- Exfoliate and shave/ wax 1-2 days prior to your appointment using an oil-free body scrub or an exfoliating mitt (a mitt is best!)
- HYDRATE! Drink lots of water and keep your skin moisturized days leading up to your appointment.
- Absolutely no Dove soap or Bath and Body Works products before and after your tan! These soaps contain ingredients that not only strip your tan, but leave a film on your skin that the spray solution may not be able to penetrate through, causing an uneven tan.
- Avoid showering/using hair products within 4 hours or your appointment (preferably avoided the day of your appointment). If you must shower, use warm water only, absolutely no soaps.
- Your spray tan session should be your last spa appointment. Complete all other appointments prior to your spray tan (nails, hair, massages, facials, etc).
- Arrive to your spray tanning session free of any barriers, including makeup, deodorant, lotion, and body sprays/perfumes. These create a barrier on your skin and does not mix well with our spray solution.
- Wear loose, dark clothing, flip flops, to your session. Tight clothing will rub against your skin which may cause an uneven tan.
- Wait the given amount of processing time before rinsing in the shower. The amount of time is very important for the proper development of the tan.
- Avoid any activities that may provoke getting wet or sweating while your tan is processing.
- Wear loose, dark clothing immediately following your session and while your tan is processing.
- When your processing time is up, rinse well with warm water only pat dry with towel. You may use your hands to guide the bronzers off of the skin while showering. Absolutely no soaps until 24 hours after your session.
